Brat Pack star Lowe stars in new Orange ad
Orange's series of cinema ads has a new star - Brat Pack actor Rob Lowe.
The ad features the earnest-looking celebrity pitching a remake of 1970s Watergate film All The President's Men to the Orange 'Film Board's' Kevin Spacey-lookalike Mr Dresden and his team of sycophantic assistants.
As is tradition in the ads, the board alter the idea pitched to them to give it a tenuous mobile phone-related spin, infuriating the star giving the presentation.
To cut a very long ad short, Dresden suggests that Lowe should incorporate a storyline involving the main character - who he suggests should be a lifeguard - bringing down a corrupt administration by making an anonymous call from his Orange mobile phone.
When Lowe objects on the grounds that the film is set in 1972, long before the time of mobiles, Dresden throws him a pair of skimpy swimming trunks to help him get in character for playing the title role.
For those who don't want to shell out on the price of a cinema ticket and bag of warm Minstrels just to see the ad, it is widely available for free on the internet.
