Expert predicts big future for mobile gambling
The "next big area" of remote gambling will take place on mobile phones, an expert has predicted.
Remote gambling can be defined as any form of gambling accessed either through the internet, using a mobile telephone or wireless handset or through interactive television. Brian Wright, business director at the Remote Gambling Association, believes that the fast developing technology of mobile phones will make them ideal devices for gambling with. He said, "At the moment you can do amazing things on phones. The internet and the phone are becoming mutual products where you can almost have the same display on your mobile phone as you do on your PC and the lines between those two will become more merged." Mr Wright cannot guarantee that mobile phones will overtake the internet as a remote gambling tool though. "But there will certainly be a levelling off where one very much looks like the other - be it on your phone or on your PC," he commented.
